DeShonda Jennings

DeShonda Monique Jennings is a proud wife, mother, grandma, and author. She’s the youngest daughter of Inell and the late Charlie Hite. She grew up in a small rural town of Kenbridge, VA. In July of 1996 she relocated to the Richmond VA area. DeShonda has a Bachelor’s in Accounting with a Minor in Business Management. After giving birth to her second daughter, she re-enrolled in college and obtained an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development. At the time of this book, she is furthering her education in Early Childhood and Teacher Education.  DeShonda owned and operated a successful Licensed Home daycare in Chesterfield County for 10 years. She currently serves as an advocate and mentor for children as well as a mentor to women who wish to start a home daycare business. She is a firm believer of “It Takes a Village” when it comes to our youth. DeShonda is a former Girl Scout Troop Leader. She has been a member of Girl Scouts for over 24 years. DeShonda is a member of VA PTA/PTSA.

 She has actively served as a parent advocate for over 21 years. Currently, she is the owner of Save On Travel, which offers discounts on everyday travel as well as the opportunity to travel at wholesale prices at www.DeeJTravel.org Her travel business is another stream of income for her family. DeShonda also mentors her business partners so that they too may be successful. Team building plays a role in everything she does. DeShonda is the epitome of what a strong wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and woman of faith is.
